If attending Cornell would mean student loans of $15,000 to $20,000 each year, and I have a strong interest in attending, is that amount justifiable when compared to graduating debt-free from a decent private research university (Case Western Reserve University)?

I intend to major in Biology and pursue a post-baccalaureate degree in a similar field or profession.

that's a decision you have to make for yourself.

But....I went to a state university for one year and didn't get any FA. I came to Cornell and I have to borrow around $20,000 per year...I feel it was worth every penny (although I complain about it a lot).
