<p>Learned like 5 weeks of material in one night with the help of Spam and got a C. Not bad IMO. LOL</p>
<p>I only know of two people who actually study on time AND gets good grades. Spam and some crazy premed girl I know.. but the premed girl studies excessively. Not sure how much Spam studies though, but he does it well b/c that guy is killing all your curves kiddies. LOL</p>
<p>Everyone else I know who studies ON TIME and studies A LOT *<strong><em>ing fail *</em></strong> like crazy. Most of the crammers and procrastinators that I know do much better than these people. The thing is that all the crammers/procrastinators that I know are very VERY efficient at studying, it is just that they don't do much of it.</p>
<p>I have and read 'What Smart Students Know' and IMO it applies a lot more to north campus classes. Overall, it was worth the read, but it didn't help me change my study habits all that much. I would like to believe that I am a pretty efficient studier though, its just that I hate doing it bit by bit and have to learn A LOT OF STUFF all at once so I can see the big picture. Learning a bit each day may be the best way for most people, but not me. </p>
<p>From my experience though, I would say that most people I know have fairly good studying SKILLS, but poor studying HABITS. They do it well, but they don't want to do it. I guess I'm kind of like that. I read like 10% of all assigned readings for this one GE class, and OMFG I screwed myself over so sick! That class was pretty baller though, LOL. </p>
<p>What I'ved observed from the group of people I know is that there is a pecking order of how much someone studies/how well they do. At the top you have the person who BARELY studies at all and gets really good grades, then you have varying levels of studying/grades until you reach the very bottom with the person who studies like 24/7, literally, and BARELY passes their classes. What is really funny is that everyone always talks about how the person below them is studying so much, or doing so bad, but then the person above them is saying the same about them. At the top you have the untouchable who just cant understand why people study so much, and at the bottom you have the depressed mother ****er wondering why life sucks so much. HAHAHA. LMFAO I think my summer anthro class was really cool, and allowed me to view things in a diff way. I gotta email my professor pics of the basil seeds she gave me, which I am currently growing.</p>

<p>I'm thinking about taking an experimental method to studying that isn't exactly too binding in the sense that I wouldn't have a fixed schedule until I figure out what works. First I would obviously do the readings. Then, I would start problem sets that I create in addition to the assigned HW. Each set consists of 10 or so "hard" problems, hence emulating the hardest of exams. I would keep doing the sets of 10 until I can finish 10 hard problems in a row without pause. I record the total time taken. Then, depending on the results of my midterm, I create my schedule. For example, if I get a 100% in 1/2 of the total alloted time, I would cut my studying time or # of hard problems to complete by 1/2 for the final. If I get 100% using the total alloted time, I would either slightly reduce my studying or keep it the same depending on whether I want the A+ or not. And If get below a 90%, then obviously the problems I have chosen are too easy and I need to find better books. Overall, this might take a huge amount of time or it may not. I hope its the latter. So..what do you guys think?</p>

<p>By create, I meant that I would make a set by taking the hardest problems from my book or books. </p>
<p>It might work idk. I mean, if I do 10 hard problems correctly the first time, I wouldn't need to do as much studying for that chapter or section. And if I make a successful first attempt for every chapter or section, I wouldn't need to study that much after all. </p>

<p>^ There's a 168 hours in a week. At most, obsessed students study 50hrs(trust me, I would not go beyond this) a week in addition to classes. So, for me, that means I would spend 64hrs a week engrossed in academics. If I sleep 6hrs a day and spend 3 hrs a day eating, showering etc, I'll have 41 hrs of leisure=>5.8 hours of free time per day to make friends.</p>

<p>Maybe CoffeeBreak wants to teach someday. I know professors who spent all their time doing problem sets and got advanced degrees in half the amount of the average person.</p>
