Too rigorous of a schedule?

I’m not sure that you want to take an AP art class without any prior art exposure. Our school does physics before bio/chem, and then AP physics. Why are you taking the music theory AP, do you have a history of band performance? I didn’t see any inclusion of band in your schedule. There is no point in taking AP Bio and AP Enviro Science the same year (they’re very similar). Taking stats before AP Calc probably isn’t a good idea, as you need to stay with the same discipline of math. Stats won’t help you at all with Calc. You should take more than 2 years of a foreign language. What is your interest in Psych? Why are you taking Euro and World history the same year?

It does look like you just tried to take every AP that your school offers. Colleges want to see passion first, not just a bunch of random classes that are put in there as padding.

Do you plan to be involved in any activities outside of the classroom? Sports? Band? Debate? Volunteering? Give yourself time to pursue those.

I expect that your school counselor/advisor will see many of the flaws in your plan and advise you more appropriately, hopefully.

Good luck!

It’s hard to tell what you can handle right now. To be honest, your “plan” is more like a little league baseball player saying:

Baseball goals:
Be best at little league
Be best at middle school ball
get recruited to top baseball high school
get drafted into minor leagues
get .35 batting average in AAA
go to major leagues and play for Yankees

It’s just too forward-looking. When I first got to high school, it was like getting hit by a brick. Same thing with college. Fortunately, I was able to adapt/adjust in both cases. But you can’t predict what the next level will feel like.

So choose something reasonable for your frosh schedule and try to 4.0 it. If that goes well, then considering upping the rigor a little the next year.

Don’t take 2 AP sciences in 1 year- especially when those two are Chem & Physics B…we’re not even allowed to do that at my school. I know people that do 4 hours of homework a night just for AP Physics B, maybe that’s just my school, maybe not. Also, 6-7 APs junior year, considering the specific combo you have, is not the best idea.

I’m a senior, and I just got done with finals today (!!!), and here’s what I took this year, which was a lot: AP Calculus AB, AP English Lit, AP Euro History (which yes, I know most people take that as sophomores, but we can’t at my school because the Euro History teacher insists on teaching it like a 3rd year college course, instead of like a freshman course, so it’s seniors only), AP Spanish Language, Theology (Catholic HS), & Physics, plus self-study AP Psych. 5 APs was a lot, my school does give a lot of homework, like more than average, but still, it was enough. Plus, I had college piano auditions.

Consider what you have for extracurriculars too! APs like APUSH, Euro, Physics, Chem, & Bio are going to have a lot of homework. People taking AP Bio at my school are constantly studying- a bunch of them review for tests during lunch and that class is their life, with 2-3 hours of homework every night. APUSH, we had about 1-2 hours of homework a night, same for AP Calc, AP English varied on homework load (1-2 papers a week, plus some reading homework, but we could sorta choose what night(s) to do it; except in March, we had to perform a play for our drama unit- like an actual play- my group did Shaw’s Pygmalion, some groups did Shakespearean plays; lots of work at that part of the year with memorizing lines and stuff). The point is that some APs have 1 hour a night, and there are some that have 3-4 hours a night. Talk to people at your school and see what they’ve had, because it varies from one school/teacher to another.

@sMITten
Our school only has latin 1 latin 2 (standard or honors) and Latin AP. We can’t take AP Chem as a Sophmore and they say it is best to do it juniour year.
And we arent able to Calc until senior year
I sing and play piano outside of school so that is why I want to take Music Theory
And i looovvvee history so thats why I want to take both the Euro and World history classes. And I’ve heard that Art history is more of a history class than an art class.
I actually want to become a neuro psychiatrist so that is why I want to take Psych and a lot of Sciences.
