Here is my planned schedule for my four years at high school. I am currently a sophomore. I also included the grades I made in my freshman year. Any comments? I really want to be in the top ten.

Biotechnology 1 Honors: A
(2015-2016) Sophomore Year:
AP Environmental Science
Algebra 2 Honors
World History Honors

12 AP/DE courses (5.0)
Help!? Is this a good schedule? All my friends are pressuring me, saying that I need to take all APs. They are taking 3 or 4 AP classes their SOPHOMORE YEAR. I want top ten so bad, but it seems so far out of reach
For top schools, it’s recommend you take 6-8 AP classes throughout high school. 9 AP classes won’t give you any significant benefits over 8, nor will 7 over 6.
FWIW though, I think your schedules are great. I would consider taking AP Calc AB or BC instead of Stat but that’s up to personal preference.
Some people can handle a schedule of all APs, others can’t. do what’s best for you and don’t let your friends pressure you. Think about it this way; do you think you’ll still be friends with them after high school? Or even next year? Friend groups change throughout high school because our interests change throughout adolescence. If they are pressuring you for classes, then that’s how they might control you for other things. They might mean well, but pushing you to take classes you may not like/not prepared for will do more harm than good.
It’s not impossible, but it will be very difficult. You will need to take classes just for the weight boost, study over the summer/take classes, cheat (see the “What are your thoughts on cheating?” thread), lose hours upon hours of sleep. Or become a genius overnight
You can check [this chart](http://www.fcps.edu/westspringfieldhs/student_services/assets/academic_advising/ap_course_expectations.pdf) to see what kind of workload you may be dealing with for the rest of high school.
But being top ten is not the be all and end all to high school. As long as you do your best, you should be fine. High school is just a springboard to move on to better things.
Good luck
@nicknick567 I had a friend who took 6 AP classes (7 tests, 1 sophomore, 3 junior, 3 senior) throughout high school, and he got into MIT… Why don’t you focus on being a better person instead of being an all-AP student? I have to (respectfully) disagree with the other poster. High school is not a bunch of stepping stones. It’s not a detour to college. Take your time in high school and learn some valuable life skills.
