Way harsh!!! I mean, the hills are nice? But yeah, I never thought Oakland was that pretty, but I don’t think it looks like a miserable ghetto. Personally prefer some areas of Shadyside and Squirrel Hill. Nicer views of the hills than the cement of Oakland, I guess.

From what I’ve seen UVA, University of Richmond, and American University - I didn’t think that AU campus would be great since it’s in DC but the buildings are pretty and there is lots of greenery and flowers :)

Stanford is pretty.
USC not so much. Some areas better than others.
Pepperdine’s views are wonderful but the campus itself is not very pretty.
Really liked UCLA. Very parklike. Also the squirrels are cute and entertaining.
Cornell was okay but the area is beautiful.
Duke is fabulous in certain areas. Architecture is great.
Wake Forest not very beautiful to me.
Elon is better than Wake Forest.
U of Miami is very pretty but buildings not so much.
Rollins is hands down the most beautiful campus. Spanish Mediterranean Architecture is gorgeous with fabulous lake views. Squirrels also cute.

On DukeBlueDevils list below, I have seen all but Notre Dame. I did not think MIT was beautiful. Columbia is nice for a compact urban campus, but that would not be in my top ten. Harvard is midpack at best among the Ivy League schools in my opinion, definitely lower than Princeton, Yale, Dartmouth, Cornell. UCLA has a nice California vibe, but it isn’t quite top 10 and is on the “overbuilt” side in my opinion. Duke is inconsistent in my view, with split campuses, lots of intrusive parking. But the collegiate gothic is pretty nice, as are the Duke Gardens. UVA is also inconsistent in my view. The Lawn is nice but it loses focus away from that and they’ve almost shackled themselves at time with adherence to Jeffersonian architecture (when he would ironically likely want to do progressive things if he were alive today).
