Top 10% of class - but at a below average school

Hello. sorry for bad typing, my phone is bad. my grade point average is about 3.75 not weighted. it is 4.45 weighted. I have taken challenging courses, and am in AP and such. but, I go to a below average school. probably overall a B average school. I am in the 95 percentile with GPA, but that is not necessarily that good because I am at a school with lowish overall student body. I want to apply to some lower ivies and Williams, duke, rice (where I have a legacy), and my state school University of Michigan and also some safeties. disregarding all other factors, how much of a problem is this for the competitive schools?

thank you

I went to a relatively lousy high school. This did not stop me from getting accepted to a very highly ranked university. My roommate freshman year had attended an even worse high school.

There are students at highly ranked universities from a very wide range of high schools. There are also graduate students at highly ranked universities who got their bachelor’s degree at a very wide range of universities.

The trick is to do very well wherever you are.
