1. Harvard
2. STANFORD
3. Yale
4. MIT
5. Berk
6. Caltech
7. Princeton
8. Chicago
9. Columbia
10. UCLA

i agree with that list fully. just note that stanford is making a run to the top as we speak

in india, its definitely,
1. harvard
2. mit
3. stanford
4. pton
5. berkely
6. yale
7. caltech
8. wharton/upenn
9. georgia tech!!, yea believe me! (engineering)
10. duke

Gtech I agree with, Indians loooove engineering, and they love biomedical engineering even more because they are all doctors or engineers, and biomedical engineering combines both

Duke is only known in certain parts of India as an excellent medical school, not really for BME though

I'm pretty sure Drexel is up there

for indians, duke over cmu?? I think not. There are so many indians from india that go to CMU for college education.

1.Harvard
2.Yale
3.Princeton
4.Stanford
5.UPENN
6.Columbia
7.Duke

oh, I forgot CMU completely.

1.) Harvard (as much as it pains me to admit this)
2.) STANFORD
3.) Yale
4.) Princeton
5.) MIT
6.) Caltech
7.) Cornell
8.) Columbia
9.) UPenn
10.)Dartmouth

I think east and west coast people have clear different opinions. I think it's best to state your region of residency when you give a list.

"1.) Harvard (as much as it pains me to admit this)
2.) STANFORD
3.) Yale
4.) Princeton
5.) MIT
6.) Caltech
7.) Cornell
8.) Columbia
9.) UPenn
10.)Dartmouth"

HAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHA. DARTMOUTH? ARE YOU JOKING? I lived in Europe in 5 years, and lived in China for 4 years. I think your list is funny.

Yeah. I didn't hear about Dartmouth living in America for a while...

Dartmouth. No. And Duke is just barely there.
Here's my list. Short.

Harvad

Princeton

Yale

Stanford

Chicago

MIT

yale should be in front of princeton. princeton suffers from its graduate department. wheres UC BERKELEY on ur list

Stanford should be at least top 3

thats just splitting hairs

We're not talking about academics here.. we're talking about international prestige. for example if we we talk about international prestige in uk we come up with oxford, cambridge, and for some london school of economics. for india, iits or bust.

for us unis, no one has heard of half the ivys. i wud put harvard, yale, chicago, ucberk/la, stanford, and mayb michigan in the top and then ur ivys and other schools come after.

Oh no, no, no. If were were talking about the schools themselves my list would be totally rearranged. We are talking about how many people world wide would recognize the name. I don't think people (even in the US) have heard of UC Berk as much as they've heard of Harvard.

in India, its IIT or bust, but there are big regional universities, like Jadapur etc. too

quitejaded: People in the US might not have heard of Cal, but in foreign countries more people know about Cal then they do Columbia or Cornell or maybe even UPenn(well at least 10 years ago they didnt). Cal is a household name in Asian countries like Oxford is for us.

1.harvard
2.princeton
3.yale
4.MIT
5.stanford
6.upenn
7.berkeley
8.cal tech
9.columbia
10.chicago

atleast here in india
