<p>There is a reason that the list is dominated by schools in California, the northeast and other urban areas. The cost of living in those areas is considerably higher than in most other parts of the country, particularly the southeast. If the numbers were adjusted for that factor, the list would look much different. In fact, without the adjustment the information has little, if any, informational value. In this case, I would also question the soure of the data at it appears to come from a site where a great deal of the information is self-reported.</p>
