^ i agree… but yale takes legacies

Anon_Person, you are absolutely correct. The kids at places like Roxbury Latin are incredibly intelligent. It’s not the connections or legacies; these kids belong at the Ivies. Almost 1/4 of the entire class are National Merit Finalists each year. The average SAT score is nearly a 2300. Plus, the parents of many kids there didn’t go to Ivies.
■■■■■■■■, of course Yale takes legacies. Every school in the country does… But no Ivy is going to accept you just because you’re a legacy. Case in point: I know a kid at my school who is a double legacy at Cornell with almost all A’s but who got rejected ED. Legacy is not everything.

^Maybe that’s true for the prep schools around you, but not for the schools around me. A lot of the kids at those schools are just snotty stupid kids whose parents donate a building or two and they’re in.

By no means am I saying that Princeton High School people and are high school people aren’t intelligent, simply that they have clear advantage in their respective legacies.

ChoklitRain goes to Harvard-Westlake.

^ You might be right. Congratulations, detective.
