i have no clue where to find rankings for this. us news has a list, but they arent ranked, just alphabetically listed. anyhow, regardless of rankings, which schools in your opinion have strong undergraduate research opportunities and have a majority of undergrads completing some sort of research [east coast schools, preferably]. also, if anyone knows, is university of richmond's research as good as they say?

top 30 universities probably have great research opps.

JHU's website said they had around 80% of undergrads in research. They also give out Woodrow Wilson and Provost's awards for independent research.

The top LACs will all have faculty working with undergrads for their research since there are no grad students to compete.

45 students at Smith each year have PAID research assistantships in their first two years. Many of them result in published papers. While the bulk are in the sciences, there are a bunch in the humanities (my d. had one) and in the social sciences as well.
