I notice that Wesleyan University and American University offer the option of a 3-year bachelor program (which can save $ overall on tuition by up to 25%). Is there a list somewhere of other schools that do so?
Most schools don’t offer them, but you can graduate from any school 3 years early if you work hard enough and took AP tests in HS Also a disclaimer about American, that program won’t reduce prices as you will be taking summer semester courses instead of the last year, so it will still be 8 semesters, just more compact. If you want to graduate early, take AP tests and CLEP exams to get rid of your core credits, that can drastically save time and money. (for example, I’m going into college with at least 30 credit hours from AP tests, making me technically a sophomore)
My school does not offer AP classes - can I still take a test the AP tests?
Yes, you can still take the AP exams. However, the CLEP exams are shorter, and can be scheduled at any time during the year, so they might be a better choice for you. Check the websites of the colleges and universities that interest you to find out about their policies about credit and/or advanced placement by exam.
Miama Ohio has some formal 3 year programs for various majors but pretty sure they assume you are coming in with some AP/DE credit but have a look.
It looks like they only offer AP exams in May & I am a senior. Can I still take them this May for credit in the Fall of 2018?
Top colleges will not accept CLEP credits.
