Top Ten Business Schools

What are the top 10 business schools? I know that wharton (UPENN) is one of the best? USC, and possibly Vanderbilt? What are some other fantastic business schools?

Harvard, Stanford, UPenn, MIT, Northwestern, Columbia, Chicago, Berkeley, Dartmouth, and Michigan all fall in the "Top 10 Business Schools" list (according to US News 2005 Rankings).

Of the two universities you listed, USC is ranked #18 and Vanderbilt is ranked #39. Keep in mind that these rankings differ with each organization (Forbes, Business Week, WSJ, etc).

donald trump went to wharton school of business (he had connections, power, father was rich, now hes rich)
ucberkeley haas school of business is good as well and its a public school

Undergraduate or graduate? Most top 10 MBA programs do not have undergraduate offerings. If I were to rate the top schools, I would rate them as follows.

UNDERGRADUATE:

1 University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)

2 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan)

2 University of California-Berkeley (Haas)

2 University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Ross)

5 Carnegie Mellon University (Tepper)

5 New York University (Stern)

5 University of Virginia (McIntire)

8 University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill (Kenan Flagler)

9 Indiana University-Bloomington (Kelly)

10 University of Southern California-Marshall

MBA:

1 Harvard University

1 Northwestern University (Kellogg)

1 University of Pennsylvania (Wharton)

4 Stanford University

4 University of Chicago

6 Columbia University

6 Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan)

6 University of Michigan-Ann Arbor (Ross)

9 Dartmouth College

10 Duke University

alexandre's ranking are right on target.

if you follow usnews, yes, but not in reality or according to recruiters. of course a foreign college freshman's views must be correct

NYUsternman, can you provide us with rankings of undergraduate Business programs according to recruiters? I have never seen any.

placement statistics shows that wharton, sloan, stern, and ross are far and away the best for ug business

I have never seen a ranking by recruiters for undergraduate programs. I think it is high time such a ranking were compiled, but I have yet to see one. Placement statistics are tricky and in most cases, not very telling.

It depends on what you're interested in concentrating in business-wise. I would not hesitate to add UT McCombs to that list, especially if you're interested in fields such as accounting or marketing. Their Business Honors Program is pretty cool, too.

Thunderbird in Arizona is great if you want to go into international business.

Tommyy, I live in Dubai and the number of quality Thunderbird alumns I have met in this city alone is staggering. And they are a very close knit bunch. They all know each other and hang out on a frequent basis. I defenitely recommend Thunderbird foir students interested in a more international flavor.

I lived in Arizona and can tell you that Thunderbird is an excellent program. Many of my friends' parents either went there or worked there as profs. It has an amazing program for international business especially with the connections it has with INSEAD in France and Singapore.

We must add that Thunderbird is a unique program in that it is the only program that is a stand-alone. It does not belong to a larger university. And Thunderbird is solely a graduate program as far as I know.

Is this your own ranking? Why'd you exclude UTexas? I almost agree with it, but here's my version:

1 - UPenn (Wharton)

2 - MIT (Sloan)

2 - Berkeley (Haas)

2 - UMich (Ross)

5 - NYU (Stern)

5 - Carnegie Mellon (Tepper)

6 - University of Texas (McCombs)

7 - UNC (Kenan-Flagler)

7 - USC (Marshall)

7 - Virginia (McIntire)

Thunderbird offers an MBA in International Management, a Master of International Management (MIM), and an Executive MBA in international management. Their curriculum is unique in that they offer all global business courses with international, cross-cultural and language studies.

Afterhours, I did in fact forget about McCombs. It certainly belongs in the top 10 undergraduate. I would probably tie it with UNC, USC and Indiana.
