Top Tier MBA Chances

I am looking at Harvard, Chicago, UVA, & Yale.

GRE: 164 Verbal, 156 Quant
Undergrad GPA: 3.92/4.0 in Honor Program at University of Texas at Austin

3.5 yrs work experience with private equity firm run by fmr Fortune 100 CEO

Significant community involvement, volunteer work, etc.

Rec from boss, elected official, etc.

Any thoughts? I could retake the GRE as well. My verbal score is pretty solid, and my quant score has improved as I continue to practice.

Unless I’m looking at this chart wrong, it says that your quantitative score is in the 68th percentile.

Yes, that is correct.

Take the GMAT. Your GRE scores are weak for any top MBA program. (GRE is a fairly easy standardized test when compared to the GMAT & much easier than the LSAT & MCAT exams.)

I have taken the GMAT as well - 660.

Carnegie Mellon (CMU) & Duke are possible with a GMAT score of 660 & solid work experience. Indiana-Bloomington is another possibility.

Obviously, standardized test scores are your weak point, but your GPA & work experience are excellent. Apply to any school that interests you & hope that you outperform your GMAT & GRE scores.

Will your company pay for an Executive MBA program ?

I’m much stronger on GRE than GMAT and will have a better time of getting my score up on GRE quant. What should my target be for my targeted programs? 165+?
