Total number of OFFICIAL SAT Tests

What is the maximum number of official SAT tests?

The official sat study guide has 10
There is another book with 10 official tests
The SAT Online course has 10
There is around 5 online.

so total is 35. Is this correct?

Thanks!

If u have the DVD sat study guide book, you have 11 tests instead of ten. However, for the online course there are actually only 9 because 1 of the tests is the free sample test available to public on the collegeboard website.

Thus, there are 35 excluding QAS of course. But you can’t get those legally unless you have take the specific paper and request it yourself.

I meant official SAT tests that could be gotten legally, and with no need to take the test.

By the way, does the blue book have complete explanations for the answers? How about the 10 official sat tests and the SAT online course? Thanks!

However, I think that the 5 free online have no answers (the old ones).

Thanks again!

Yup  The blue book has complete explanations online (just google SAT book owner’s area).

If you want the explanations for the first edition of the blue book (the older one with 8 practice tests (Ok i just realized that actually there is 33 official tests actually (because the other edition has 8 tests only)) you have to get the SAT online course.

And ya there are 5 free online tests (but they do have answers actually)

Thanks!

However, I am finding the MAXIMUM, so we could get 35 official tests, using the latest version of the blue book.

How do you find the answers for the 5 free online tests?

Thanks again! (and to all future repliers)

Sorry for double posting.

I found the 10 official SATs here: [10 Real SATs, Third Edition: The College Board: 9780874477054: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/10-Real-SATs-Third-Edition/dp/0874477050).

However, there are no solutions and there are a numerous solutions books for it.

Which one do you recommend? Quality over price. I care most about the solutions in the CR section.

Ermm that is the 3rd edition for the old SAT meaning theres no writing section and the Verbal section (not called Critical reading then) contains different styled questions. You can still get it if you want but I think it’s a waste of time (to spend on 10 practice tests from a different ‘syllabus’) and you would be better off buying the 1st edition which has 8 practice tests for the current SATs instead. [The Official SAT Study Guide: For the New SAT: The College Board: 9780874477184: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Official-SAT-Study-Guide-New/dp/0874477182/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1385652092&sr=1-1&keywords=The+Official+SAT+Study+Guide+1st+(First)+edition+by+The+College+Board)

ohhhh I get it… I got confused with the 3rd edition and the 1st edition…

They should have named it more clearly though…

Well, I just need to practice my reading comprehension on LONG passages, so I think that $20 is not too much to spend for that.

haha alright  I think the number of practices you intend to purchase would be more than enough. Good luck with your SAT!

I have a darn lot of time before it. More than 1000 days. (not a typo).

I’ll take a practice test once a month…

Read the stickied thread.

The 10 Real SATs book you speak of is a book containing pre-2005 SATs. They’re not necessarily particularly useful and I’m not even sure that you could get your hands on one of those books anymore.

Here is the exhaustive list of Official SAT tests available to students. I am only listing unique tests because there is overlap between different sources.

11 Tests: Official Guide 2nd Edition with DVD
1 Test: Official Guide 1st Edition(Test#1)
7 Tests: Collegeboard’s Online Course(2 identical and 1 has significant overlap with tests below)
8 Tests: Official Practice tests released over the year(3 of them are pre-2005 SAT tests that have a different format, although a lot of the content is still relevant).
Links to 8 tests here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1277787-links-additional-official-sat-practice-tests-collegeboard.html

A total of 27 tests.

The 10 Real SAT book does have additional tests, but I would only do those if I have exhausted the above 27 tests.

Does the 10 Real SAT book have any overlaps with any of the tests posted in SAT Quantum’s post?

I am figuring out how often should I take a practice test.

Thanks for all your clarifications!

So, apparently, it is not worth it to buy the DVD because 1 practice test for $10…

Hence, these are what I will have

  • 10 from the official SAT study guide. (it says that the dvd has 1 bonus practice tests and an access for free practice tests, questions, etc. Does this mean that the dvd has more than 1 free practice test?)
  • 10-1-2=7 from the official SAT online course
  • 5 from online
    Total: 22 tests.
In the 3 years, maybe 2 more tests will be released.

Is this correct?

Thanks!

Still missing out the first edition of the blue book for the new SAT. (if you intend to buy it)

Oh, so the blue book (including the DVD) has 12 tests, accounting for both editions.

The other resources have 12 total, so 24 is the final total?
