Tough Financial Situation (I Need advice)

@almostthermulan I don’t want to start some unimportant, good for nothing argument, but don’t compare your hardships with mine. We are two completely different people and have really no idea about each other. What I was trying to get at is that it is not bad to have money. And it’s NOT bad to NOT have hardships. People with hardships should not feel like they are more important because they have been through more in life and equally vice versa. People who have money often are tagged with being preppy and self-centered, but as we all know, steriotype are just steriotypes. So many things become a bragging competition with “who has been through more.” I wasn’t attacking you or your situation or anything. I was just saying that don’t think someone has had an easy life if they are currently financially stable.

Net worth of 750K-$1,000,000 is nice, but it’s not Donald Trump. Having enough money to be comfortable doesn’t mean one has no problems, that life is rosy, or the individual hasn’t had to work hard, scrimp, and save to get to that point. A net worth in that range doesn’t mean they are living in a mansion with servants and a five car garage. They are very fortunate, no doubt, but let’s not get carried away with tales of whose struggles have been worse. I can’t imagine the OP’s father was feeling like he was on easy street while in the military for 21 years or deployed for 16 months. There is no reason to go after this kid’s throat. He’ll learn about the big bad world soon enough.

This “kid” is probably close to 18. That makes him my age.

So? Your post #78 was out of line. adamfromiowa is right - neither of you know enough about the other’s situation to start getting all judgmental.
