<p>I just got OVs from my top two schools (both Ivies) this week but they both "insisted" on the September dates. Does this carry any significance? I dont mind but I was just surprised because a large majority of kids at my school are taking October visits. </p>

<p>I wouldn’t read any significance into a Sept. vs an Oct. visit. </p>
<p>As for what to expect, it’s 48 hours on campus - usually Fri and Sat. You’ll be paired up with a host, attend a few classes, meet teammates, coaches, academic advisers, etc. You’ll sit in on a workout - (won’t be able to participate). Probably go out in the evening with your host and teammates and you’ll also have some free time when your host will be busy studying.</p>
<p>I agree-date isn’t significant, probably just works best with the coaches schedule and getting info back to admissions, etc. Almost every coach DD is talking to (not for track) wants to have recruits signed at the Nov signing date so they want to wrap up visits in Sept so the athletes can get applications in and they can get the offer letters ready in time for that to happen.</p>
