Trading

I have na engineering background. I am curious as to what math courses would be beneficial towards trading?

there are more beneficial things that you can do to improve in trading.

If you truly have an engineering background, you have a lot more ‘math classes’ under your belt than most traders do. As stated above, math classes aren’t really going to help you with trading, you need to understand the market. If you are just looking to do some trading on your own, you could look into taking an investment class. Many of the larger financial services firms offer these types of classes, just google it.

Take statistics/econometrics or financial mathematics if possible. Either way they teach you everything you need to know. How quantitative the trading is depends on the firm, the product and the individual desk.

i started trading recently. i didnt use any math at all. just need to understand the market. unless you want to day trade…where some quant is involved, but i dont have the funds to daytrade so only investing.

Keep in mind that investing is not trading.
