I recently received a ticket for going a 72 in a 45. Will this ticket prevent me from receiving grants from fafsa and aid? Additionally, will I be able to get jobs while in college?
No
Your traffic ticket won’t prevent that
In my state, fines aren’t the problem, points are. Several members of my family have gone to traffic court, plead guilty to a lesser offense, pay a higher fine, but get lower points, sometimes no points depending on the driving record. A certain number of points earns you 3 years of fines plus higher insurance rates.
Yes in general, although the subset of jobs that involve driving and care about your driving record may be affected. An example was that I once took a hotel’s shuttle to an airport, and it looked like the shuttle driver was a student at the nearby university, based on the textbooks present.
I live in Texas
Thank you very much!!
Thank you! Do you know what determines qualifications in Texas?
See if they will let you do Defensive Driving School.
Get a lawyer. They may be able to get it reduced down so it doesn’t affect your insurance or your points on your license with the DMV. Don’t know how it is in Texas, but that is too fast in NC and you can get your license suspended if you don’t get a lawyer.
