Hello!
I have always wanted to be a wolverine but unfortunately I din’t get in as a freshman. I just finished my freshman year at San Diego State University. I didn’t do as well as I hoped but I got a 3.14 first semester with 15 units and a 3.6 second semester with 12 units. I took 15 units but failed a business calculus class. I will be retaking the course and with course forgiveness it will hopefully be erased from my GPA. Regardless, I really want to attend UofM I know my chances are slim but a recent alum told me that if you take non-degree seeking summer courses at Michigan that you will have a far better chance of admission. Is this true?
If this is true I have more information in my very complicated situation. I have accepted a job as a summer camp counselor in Wisconsin this summer. However, would it be more beneficial on a transfer application to be a camp counselor or to take classes at the UofM.
Also, does someone in my situation have a better chance of acceptance in applying this winter or waiting until I am a junior in the fall?
Sorry this is a lot but would I have a better chance of getting in let’s say if I went to a community in Michigan next year (my family is moving back to Ann Arbor from California).
Again, sorry this is a lot. I am kind of lost on the whole process and any advice or ideas is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!
