Oh my gosh. College is what you make of it. No place is perfect. This is what I’ve tried to impart on my daughters anyway. My youngest D is a sophomore and loves it at Cornell (for the most part). Of course there are times that are stressful but you are going to get that wherever you go to school. You have to put yourself out there and find what you enjoy. It won’t come to you—this goes for anything in life. You have to advocate for yourself at a large university. It’s different than a small college. My oldest D will graduate from Carnegie Mellon this spring. She has not liked it there, but made the most of her time there and is very well aware of the leg up she has gotten from the education she had received. She is extremely sought after and has her pick of jobs after graduation, which most people do not have, but CMU is a really tough environment. You just have to deal with it. Why do you kids think everything has to be perfect?
