Transfer because of money

In reading many transfer posts, I noticed that most students want to transfer because they are unhappy where they are. Has anyone had to transfer because of money problems? I think the dynamic would be different, you really weren't unhappy, you just don't want large tuition bills. I'm thinking of that because of an aid change, but I'll miss friends, etc. I know I can visit, but it's not the same thing. I know I'll be fine, but I wondered if anyone had advice about readjusting to a new college. Mine would be Fall 2007.

yea, my friend transferred to a cheaper, now instate school after her freshman year because she was having aid problems. however, i am not sure if she did or did not like her previous school. but she seems to be liking her new school now, so i guess it worked out for her.

I hope it does for me, I suppose since my grades are very good (so far) I can say that it was for financial reasons if a grad school asks. People at our state schools (even lower tiers) go to very good grad schools but the honors program and just hard workers usually rise to the top and try harder. For me it would be the mental adjustment, getting to know new people, routines, etc.
