*Transfer Brown 2017*

I’ve been able to push that button for more than a month with no decision so I doubt it @sc4

What are your guys stats for comparison? My button came up today as well. I’m thinking decisions are just made over time, but committee is probably going on now, especially for those they are on the fence about.

I’ll share my stats once I get my decision in. @Gdawg30 my admission officer was extremely responsive and just had an overall positive and encouraging tone in their e-mails. In itself this doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but the fact that my officer is part of admissions exec does help I feel like.

@juliar95 Not everyone makes it to committee so it’s possible to get rejected earlier on but I agree I doubt the button is reflective of decisions in the first place.

@actsat21 I don’t think stats matter too much once you’re past a certain threshold but:
SAT: 2250
SAT II: BioM (800), MathII(800), US History (780)
College GPA/Midterm: 4.0

don’t have the button yet either

Maybe the button means “decision made but not yet released?”

@sc4 bet you have a really good shot. I’ve basically lost all hope in Brown, yet again.

Out-of-state student at UVA (freshman)
GPA of first semester: 3.769…midterm grades all A’s (2nd semester will likely be a 3.94)
SAT: 2160 (the death of me)
SAT II: 740 U.S. History, 700 Spanish

ECs: Staff editor on the undergraduate foreign policy journal
Volunteered for the Clinton campaign in the fall (registered voters on campus, etc.)
Member of a small legislators club (currently working to draft a bill on sexual education for schools in Virginia)…I’ll be president next year (didn’t tell Brown that)
Also, art is a huge thing for me, but obviously I can’t submit a supplement as a transfer (at least for Brown)

HS GPA: 3.99/4.0 (unweighted)
typical honors and AP classes

@Gdawg30 ehh we’ll see. It’s hard to tell with these things. I’m from an affluent area, so high SAT scores are more of an expected thing than a real differentiator. Holistic admissions, you know the whole spiel :). Your stats/EC’s look fine to me, and you got waitlisted at Williams, so you’re definitely a very competitive applicant!

@sc4 I was also deferred and then rejected by Brown last year, so I am not really positive at all right now

i have the button… is that indicate anything?

@madisonj643 no. ive had mine for a month, and there is no way they’ve had a decision for a month.

The button literally could not mean less. Let’s not stress ourselves out about something like that that does not mean much haha. I do hope decisions come out soon though.

@actsat21 @sc4 committee? is it our regional admission officer who sees our app first and then the apps that make it past that point are brought to committee? a little elaboration please, haha

According to the website, every decision is decided in committee

Sorry, guess I was wrong! Brown does say that all decision are made in committee. As I understand it, usually your regional admission officer + one or two other admissions officers read your application, then it’s presented at committee. Some schools don’t present every application at committee, so it’s possible to get rejected before.

Last year, if someone can access their own canvas, is it an indication of acceptance?

@madisonj643 What do you get when you login? Does it say you can’t access it or does it let you in?

Does anyone know the approximate acceptance rate for the Business concentration (BEO) or even the total brown acceptance rate? Thanks

This is what I get: https://■■■■■■/gXV8kk

@MysteriousDude I get the same thing. I’m curious as to what @madisonj643 gets.
