Transfer? Chance at medical programs?

Hello, I’m currently a junior and I currently attend a top school in west coast and I am really depressed and living a rough life. I don’t really have close friends and school is just super annoying in multiple ways. I have a ~3.8 GPA (UW) and most likely 4.2-4.3 (W) GPA, having taken 7 AP courses. My school sends a bunch of people to ivies etc.

I was wondering what would happen in the instance that I transfer to a local home school for senior year. I would most likely get all As there. I’m mainly interested in medical programs and the guaranteed programs as well, so I would apply to Northwestern, Brown, etc. and lower ones, to maximize my chance. I would be happy to go to any of the guaranteed programs, honestly. If I don’t get accepted, then I would pursue a moderate undergrad to maintain a good GPA.

Currently, I do not have too much medical experience though. I am definitely going to ramp up my resume on med and research from this point.

However, I do have a lot of other extracurriculars in competitions, including many state awards for science, technology, and mathematics. They’re just not really oriented toward medicine though.

Would it be fine to transfer out of my magnet school? What kind of impact would it have? If I stay, I don’t think I would have a strong chance anyways, since I will be competing against others when the college admissions look through our apps.

I didn’t disclose my specific ECs for confidential purposes. Please PM me if you want to know what my specific ECs are if that helps in giving me chances. Thanks!

You’re saying transfer out to homeschool? Getting all As in homeschool doesn’t mean as much, since it has to be backed up by strong test scores. I can kind of see it making sense since your looking at BS/MD programs, where you can do a ton of medical-related volunteer work, any sorts of research opportunities, etc. ECs are very important for assessing if someone has a good chance at BS/MD programs, since they want to make sure you’re truly interested in and qualified for that career path. And because these programs are all so super selective, no one (except an admissions officer) can say with any accuracy what your chances are to be accepted into any of them.
