I have strong extracurriculars, recommendations, and test scores, it’s just that my high school GPA is very low(had a couple of Cs and many Bs). I’m only a freshman right now so my high school GPA is going to be taken heavily into consideration. Is it even worth applying to these schools? I wouldn’t apply for transfer for any other schools.
If your college GPA at a top SUNY is a perfect 4.0, then you should receive strong consideration from all of these schools with a 1560 or 1580 SAT.
But your SAT II scores are different than from your earlier threads.
Nevertheless, the most important considerations are your college GPA, reason for transferring to that particular school & SAT & whether or not you are in need of significant financial aid.
I don’t need significant financial aid. Given these circumstances, should I be trying to apply to these schools? I’ve looked through College Confidential and I haven’t found anyone with a high school GPA as low as mine get accepted to these schools as a sophomore transfer, regardless of how amazing their college profile is.
If your college GPA remains at 4.0, then apply. Your numbers are great. College GPA is much more important & more relevant than your high school GPA.
If you stay where you are for your Sophomore year, your HS transcripts become more or less irrelevant. If you transfer after only one semester (you won’t have your Spring grades until after your applications is submitted), the HS transcript is still going to be used. It is also better to demonstrate your ability to handle the college coursework for more than one semester.
The thing is, due to recruiting for my intended career/industry starting at the end of sophomore year, I’m gonna have to be at one of these schools by next year
