Transfer Chances: Villanova, UPenn, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, & Cornell

Hello,

I was hoping if someone could chance me as a rising junior transfer to the following schools: Villanova, UPenn (Arts & Sciences), Georgetown, Vanderbilt, & Cornell as a Finance/Economics. I have a 3.8+ GPA, 1370 SAT (710 M; 660 CR/W), participate in weekly community service, very active in student government, and lead in our campus ministry. I also have completed a finance internship at a Fortune 100 company and have secured and internship at a top investment mangement firm for next summer. However, I have poor highschool stats (3.1 GPA with high upward trend) but I was heavily involved in sports and the school band. I waited until I was a rising junior to make up for the mistakes I made in highschool and I think I have done well so far.

Anyways, so what do you think my chances are? Thanks!!!

Giving this thread a bump. Any input is greatly appreciated!

If you’re a junior in college, transferring isn’t worth it. You will lost half, if not, most of your credits in the process. Financial aid has limits, and you’re going to run out of financial before you can graduate. I would just stick with what you have.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I am a current sophomore and most likely my credits will transfer because I’m coming from a 4 year universities. I’d be transferring into one of these schools as a rising junior. Anyways, what do you think my chances are? Thanks!!

“most likely my credits will transfer because I’m coming from a 4 year universities”

That’s not true at all. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a university or community college, the more credits you accumulate, the more you lose when you transfer. As far as your chances, you’re as good as any other applicant, but that’s not saying much if you run out of financial aid before you graduate.
