Hey guys, I tried searching for the answer to my answer in previous threads but I'm asking just to be safe. I want to create a personalized CommonApp essay for two colleges: Columbia and NYU. Do I have to create two CommonApp accounts to submit two different CommonApp essays? Thanks!

You can make an alternate version of the common app to update or correct an essay (or any other part of the application) here is a post that talks all about it and the quote below is from chocoholic:

Thanks raqbau, I appreciate the response. So I have to submit an application first before I replicate another version? Then I have to delete the essay? Will the college still get it?
If I am applying to another college, do I have to rinse and repeat? THANKS! :)

Yea you have to submit it before you can replicate it, then you have the option to change the essay or other parts that you might want to edit. The college will only get the version of the app you send them they wont receive other versions. And as for your last question: Your information from your first version is passed on to the alternate version so your not starting from scratch.
