Transfer competitiveness?

I am currently a freshman at a local Community College hoping to transfer to Temple for Fall 2016 as a Finance major. My grades for this semester are turning out really well, as I should finish up with a 3.8 GPA or higher. However, my high school resume is pretty unimpressive. I definitely would not have gotten in as a freshman. I was thinking of doing the transfer decision day in the Spring, because my midterm grades for the Spring semester should be in by then. Since Temple is becoming increasingly more competitive over the last few years, I’m a little worried that my high school grades are really going to hurt my chances. I was also looking at Pitt, but their website specifically says they usually do not accept a transfer student after 1 year unless they had high school grades good enough to get in as a Freshman and I’m not sure if Temple has a similar policy. So basically, if anyone on here has been in a similar situation, what was your experience? Does Temple put more weight into high school grades or will my fall semester and Spring midterm college grades be enough?

from what i understand, for most colleges, high school grades are very important for first 30 hours of college and become less and less important further on. Still a 3.8 is great and would get my attention as a college admissions officer. Apply and see what happens. if there are good reasons for the lower high school grades, drop a letter to Temple that explains why and also explain why you have overcome the lower grades and expect to do well at Temple.
