Transfer dilemna

I currently attend Georgetown University but have been sent on medical leave (this is the second time). My parents want me closer to home and as such I applied to transfer into Stanford and Santa Clara University. I did not get into Stanford, but Santa Clara accepted me (they are offering 15K in grant money along with 5K in loans). Ultimately, I want to go to UC Berkeley or return to Georgetown, but nevertheless I don't want to turn down an offer from Santa Clara. The other option I have to attend a community college for a year and then transfer into Berkeley (I currently have 18 Georgetown credits and 9 community college credits), so that would be a possibility too. Any suggestions anyone?

BTW, in terms of getting into UC Berkeley, my stats are as follows:

SAT: 2160
GPA (Georgetown): 3.9
GPA (Community College): 4.0
HS: Don't remember, I think 4.2-3 weighted

I imagine hopping around to so many universities would be taxing both academically and socially. If you came to Santa Clara, you would have to start taking classes in our rather heavy core, which could inhibit you from easily transferring with degree units. I think your best option would be to commit to the next four-year school you attend. If you come to Santa Clara (where you’re expected to stay), be a Bronco. Otherwise, go to community college (where you’re expected to transfer) and transfer to another four-year school, be it Berkeley or Georgetown. Too much hopping around will only hurt you.

I’d say go to community college. It sounds like you just finished your first year, so work on another 30 units till your health gets better, and then apply to all these schools again. They are all really good schools, but if you went to one of them while still recovering from medical issues it might work you too hard and actually make your health deteriorate. You really need to sit down and talk it through with your parents about all the scenarios and issues that could arise what you will do to solve them.
