I am a second semester sophomore and have a 3.81 GPA (straight A’s for the past two semesters). I went to UMass Amherst in the honors college for 3 semester but this semester I am taking classes at a local community college for health reasons (documented). I am a legal studies major with a major GPA of 4.0. I was also deputy events director for the University Democrats, Vice President of Political Advocacy Council, and reporter for a school newspaper. I have 2 stellar letters of recommendation from professors in my major and a letter of rec from the head of honors. I have volunteered on several political campaigns including Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, etc.
I am a gay white man if that factors in for anything.
My high school record is pretty mediocre because I was going through family problems. I had a 3.3 GPA and a 1200 on the new SAT. I was president of the Junior Rotary Interact Club and lead attorney of the Mock Trials team.
Thanks in advance
After two years of excellent college grades, your HS record won’t be reviewed much.
those are all fine Unis with an excellent liberal arts curriculum. Thus, my suggestion is to find a liberal arts major (Poli Sci.? Gov?) and make sure that you have completed most of the prereqs for the major at the new Uni.
BC & BU, for example, do not offer a Legal studies major; LS is not even a good major for prelaw.
good luck.
