Transfer Emory Fall 2008

Lol. Idk, It's some huge book with all their majors and the reqs and such. It's like they put their site in print or sthing.

I asked because the one I got looked like it'd been put through a blender. It's ripped and such...

oh well I havn't gotten it yet. But I'll let you know if/when I do!

hey guys, I got accepted to emory as a transfer. deciding between emory and georgetown right now for pre-med, interested in international healthcare policy. I'm at an L.A.C. right now and don't like it, any advice?

DorkAlert, can i ask you when your transfer app became complete at Emory? I heard that 2~3 weeks from the app completion date is the time frame you can expect the decision result. I also applied for fall transfer to Emory.

sebia: can't say the exact date because there was some trouble getting my materials in, but they were very quick about it, no more than a month after I had everything in.

I thought they started reviewing after the deadline? If not then I am royally screwed.

^ rolling admissions. I got my app in late though and it didn't hurt me, never know.

felix,

My son has applied as a transfer to the business school, and has been told that all decisions will be released on June 2nd.

He's got a 3.4 GPA from Indiana's Kelley Business School (where he's already been admitted to the program) and we're waiting for the Goizueta result hopefully. The only question as to whether to attend Emory if admitted is based upon how many more units he'll have to take at Emory. It appears that he'd have to go 3 more years to Emory, but only 2 more years at Indiana. This makes the decision very difficult, since he really likes Emory and would prefer to go there, but the financial situation enters into, especially since he's likely to be offered little to no financial aid.

What about you?--Are you also awaiting the June 2nd Goizueta decisions?

Calcruzer,
im a sophomore from a SEC univ and awaitin the June 2nd decision. this takes forever and wat makes me panic is that there s no online access to check my app status.

im in that same boat with a low test score act-27 but ive gotten a 3.85 gpa in college if that helps. my hs record isnt great (3.6 gpa) but i took a hard schedule. Does anyone have an idea of how many transfers apply and are accepted. I havent been able to find much on this. thanks and good luck all. also, its my understanding that rolling admissions usually means the admission offices is looking for numbers more than personality through essays, etc. is this true?

did anyone get in yet? what were your gpas and what colleges.

im entering my sophomore year at UMiami (3.74 GPA) and am considering applying to Goizueta for junior transfer. However here is the catch! I spent first semester at UMD and received a low GPA, so my combined GPA is a 3.4. However, won't Emory see that I got a much higher GPA at Miami and it's a much more solid school than Maryland, so it must've been a fluke? And don't they get two transcripts. One with my Maryland grades and GPA and one from Miami? Please help.

Hey, I'm a Northwestern freshman majoring in Econ and Intl Studies considering transferring between those two schools - Emory & UMiami. I was happy w NU academically but not socially and I hate the weather here and want to be close to home in Ft. Lauderdale. My only issue is what's job placement like at UM - is it impossible to get a good ibanking or consulting job even being very successful there? I know at Emory job placement's pretty good. Thanks

Whats everyones feeling on these 2 schools? i heard washu's campus is nicer than emorys but emory is in a better area and has a better business school. any opinions?

panda: not gonna lie, I did commonapp and my essay was pretty bad. I feel like Emory was looking at college GPA, college strength and maybe extracurriculars since college. My HS numbers were pretty lame and SAT's just under 2000 so it was all College stuff that got me in.

thanks. I guess thats what I was expecting. thats great info i appreciate it!

accepted, but going to Georgetown

if you can pay the deposit on the student info page, is that a good sign of acceptance?

i have the same thing. but i havent gotten anything in the mail yet. did u? and when did u apply, DBO?

I submitted my final transcript a couple weeks ago, though I submitted the actual application months ago.

Do any other Emory transfers have or not have the ability to pay their deposit?
