Transfer from US to UK

Hi, I'm new, so my apologies if this post is in the wrong place.

I am currently in my last year of High School, and will be attending either the University of Virginia (if I get off the waitlist) or the University of Michigan. However, since my application, I have started to be interested in studying Law, and would like to pursue an undergraduate degree in Law in the UK. I am aware that I will have to apply as a first year student, but I have a few concerns.

Firstly, if I decide to apply for Oxbridge, then that means I need to submit my application by October. However I will only be around 2 months into the school year at university, and professors will likely not know me well. Therefore, I would like to ask...is it even worth it? I mean, recommendations are extremely important when applying to any college, and if I am to get recommendations from two professors who barely know me, then this will be a huge disadvantage as they are probably not going to have much to write about.

Also, would UK schools look at my first year university grades? I am assuming yes, because they will be my most recent results and show my up-to-date academic performance. However, I am aware that UK schools in general only look at AP scores, and not at the grades achieved in school. Will this be different for me, or will they really just look at my AP scores and disregard my grades achieved in university?

Thank you! Any response would be greatly appreciated.

You need to contact the UK universities on your list and ask them how they handle international admissions from the US, and what materials you will need to provide them.

If you are serious about studying there, and you can afford to pay the full cost of your education there, a Gap Year may be a better choice for you than starting college right now.
