Hello Everyone!

Thanks and Take Care!

Background: Transfer student from local MN CC into CSE for Fall '13.

About a month to a month and a half after receiving my acceptance letter, I got a letter informing me I will be receiving a scholarship. It is not a huge scholarship, but it is over 2 years, providing I keep above a certain GPA.

At transfer orientation, which I attended last week. We were told many more scholarship opportunities open up once we get fully accepted into our major. I have no clue if this is the same procedure for the other schools within UMN.

It seems to me, as a transfer student there aren’t nearly as many scholarship opportunities compared to freshman.

Unfortunately transfer students do not have the same initial amount of scholarship offers as incoming freshman students. However once you are in your major, there should be many opportunities to apply for scholarships (although you will be competing with your fellow students).
