aiming for 4.0 again 3rd semester

my chances to schools like NYU, Cornell, Columbia, Georgetown

be honest
need advice thanks

Well, you really can’t get much better than a 4.0 as far as the GPA goes. Interning at a law firm is pretty good as well. And your transition from “horrible high school” to 4.0 should be impressive and helpful. Congrats!

Beyond that, I’m not sure I could chance you. What do you want to study at those schools, and why do you want to study it there? How strong are you already in your particular field? Did you take easy courses to get that 4.0 or did you take a very rigorous schedule? That part matters a lot. Schools like Cornell will want you to have a very specific reason for wanting to transfer (especially if you’re already coming from a “tier 1 private university”). With their limited transfer spots, they want to make sure that you’d make full use of the opportunity and that you’ll contribute very much to the school. Convincing them of these two facts is where your essays come in.

Wait a minute… If your high school stats are as bad as you say how did you get into a “tier 1 private un”? Legacy? Athlete? Or maybe your definition of a “tier1 priv uni” differs from mine.Perhaps you did better in high school then you give yourself credit for. Please don’t take this the wrong way. I’m just curious.

He goes to Fairleigh Dickinson… the “Tier 1” rating is very subjective/liberal.

Anyway, you’ve done as well as you can in college, so congrats. Have you done anything else in college?

Given this limited information, I’d say (subject to change) -
Very little chance:
@ Columbia; <5%
@ Georgetown SFS; “”

@ Georgetown in general… I would put you a tad under par (20% acceptance rate overall)

For NYU it’ll vary vastly depending on what school you apply for (i.e. Stern)

Not sure about Cornell, but generally you’d be a slightly below-average candidate for them as well.

thanks homeboys, haha wait how did u guys know i went to FDU

college of arts and science for cornell and NYU

Sick tier 1 school, bro.
