Transfer student for summer 2012

Hello,

I am currently enrolled in Miami Dade College expecting an Associates Degree by Spring 2012.

I am looking to transfer into Boston College’s Political Science program and would like some insight on how I stand.

My GPA as a transfer student will be roughly a 3.2.

I am not sure exactly what other information you will need to chance me.

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance…

Dear jesusf305 : Being very honest, your chances are not good at all.

Basically, you have presented a 3.2 GPA (below a B+) from a community college for a national Top 30 University where 85% of the admissions are allocated to students with a Top 10% performance with greater than a 3.7 GPA.

[Boston College Fact Book](http://www.bc.edu/publications/factbook/)

Take a look at Page 34 of the current BC Fact Book. Transfer acceptance counts over the last three years have been 166, 329, and 233 for an average acceptance rate of about 15% (about half of the acceptance rates for the freshmen pools). When you look at the final enrollment from those accepted, there have been 11 total students in the last three years that have enrolled from a previous two-year institution - an average of about four students per year.
