Transfer to MIT with aid or not??

I'm an international student studying at an American Top-20 LAC. I want to transfer to MIT. While I will need financial aid if I get into MIT I dont mind taking a student loan to fund my studies.

I have heard that while MIT claims to be need-blind, I will be at a disadvantage as an international transfer applicant applying for financial aid. Is this true? Would it really hurt my chances to apply with financial aid or would I be better off applying without aid?

I do realise that transfer admissions are extremely competitive, but I just wanted to know what you guys think about my predicament.

According to [this](Transfer eligibility | MIT Admissions):

“Transfer students may apply for financial aid and are given the same financial aid consideration as all undergraduate students.”

No, it’s not true. MIT is genuinely need-blind for all applicants, whether they’re freshman, transfer, domestic, or international. Your ability to pay doesn’t affect your likelihood of being admitted.
