I’m an international student who wish to transfer to OSU Columbus in spring 2021.
-My gpa is 3.21 at my current college
I’m wondering if I should write an essay about my gpa is low but not sure if it’s applicable under the personal data section on the application. I see that the transfer acceptance rate for osu is quite high and I really hope I can get in.
anyone else transferring or already got accepted?
Your gpa is fine. Don’t waste the essay explaining a number that is already on your transcript. Use the essay to introduce yourself and let them know more about you.

there’s no personal statement essay for transfer but an optional box for transfer to explain about academic interruption. I decided to write about my situation just in case. I really wish to be accepted by osu so I don’t want to take the risk.
Thanks for your reply!
“Personal statement
Completing the personal statement is required for students whose academic records include interruptions in education. It is optional for others. Find the personal statement section under the “Program data” tab on the application.”

I understood that to mean you must write a personal statement/essay if you are not currently a student (or have had other gaps/interruptions in your academic record). If you are a current student in good standing (eligible to continue your studies where you are and have had no gaps), then submitting the personal statement/essay is optional.
But, maybe we are discussing different sections of the application. Again, your cumulative gpa is fine.
Good luck!
