Hey Guys,

So I'm currently a freshman at Temple but I have come to realize that living in the city just isn't for me. I really want to go Penn State Harrisburg next year but I'm afraid that my grades this semester are less than stellar. I don't know for sure but I'm probably going to end up with a B, 2 C's and potentially a D. So I am wondering, what are my chances at getting into Penn State Harrisburg and what transcripts will they look at? I got accepted into Penn State Altoona last year (out of High School) but decided to go to Temple instead. So since I got accepted to a branch campus before, what are my chances at getting accepted again after my 1st year of college? Thanks for your help!

Hello templeowl93,

If you have less than 18 attempted credits, you will be evaluated as a Freshman and PSU will use your high school grades to evaluate your credentials. If you’ve attempted 18+ credits, then your college GPA is what we will use to determine your eligibility. Your admissibility will also depend on which major you are pursuing and/or if you intend on finishing at University Park. My name is Lorena and I’m an Admissions Counselor at Penn State Harrisburg. Have a great day! -Lorena

Hey, Im a freshman here at temple too! And im actually thinking about transferring to Penn State Harrisburg, I’m kinda in the same boat, all of my grades are A and Bs except math… But if you need anyone to talk to I’m thinking about transferring also!

Hi Templegirl16! What semester were you exploring transfering to Penn State Harrisburg?

Hi, Sorry i never saw this reply back! But im thinking about the fall this year. But I’m not sure if I even can. I am as of now a public relations major at Temple. However I want to switch to Advertsing of Marketing. The probelm is I don’t even know if I can do any of these, since advertsing doesn’t accept transfers. I also wanted to end up at University Park, but the Penn State website talks about how you can’t transfer after 3 semsters. I have my application ready to send in, I just don’t want to apply if I can’t do these options. I got accepted to Penn State Main(with the summer program) for my freshman year, but feel like I made the wrong choice.
