Hi guys.

I have heard very contradictory things about transferring to UC Berkeley and UCLA (Johns Hopkins is a different story).

I've heard that transferring into UC Berkeley and UCLA is generally pretty easy, if you keep up a 3.8 or 3.9 in college. But on their website it says that 94% of transfer students are from Californian Community Colleges (which I am not in). Does this mean that I have less than 6% chance of getting accepted?

Let's say that I go to a school like University of Washington, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, or UCSD.

If I have a pretty high gpa of 3.9~4.0, and I'm not applying for super competitive majors like business or biology, how hard would it be to transfer into UC Berkeley and LA for my sophomore year? How about for junior year?

What else should I do/have in order to increase my chances of successfully transferring?

What are the transfer standards for Johns Hopkins?

Thanks.
