So im about to finish my freshman year at Texas Tech and im looking to transfer the beginning of my junior year, so i still have a year. But that means ill be applying next December/January. At the end of next fall (2015) semester i should have somewhere around a 3.3 if im being realistic. I am an SI leader for Gen Chem 1 at Texas Tech which basically means I teach like a discussion for Gen Chem in the evenings. I guess i would consider that a big accomplishment since i think im the first ever freshman to have this job, its usually upperclassmen. Im a biochem major and I have also started research with a professor that is on the admissions board of the Texas Tech medical school this past spring semester, and im sure he’d right me a letter of rec along with a few other science professors. So my question is what do you think my chances are with a 3.3? I know GPA is the most important, but do you think some of these things compensate?
