I got into both Wake and Vandy as a transfer student and I can't decided which to attend. I want to major in Art History and minor in political science...any ideas???

I know that the Pol Sci department at Wake is top notch, but I don't know anything about the Art.

My son was accepted to both and got scholarships to both..half tuition at Vandy and full ride at Wake as a Carswell Scholar. Both schools are very similar in the type of school and, to him, it was a coin toss before the scholarship decision. The great scholarship, class size, ACC B-Ball swayed him to go Wake. He is studying polisci and business. The art program there is pretty good..but neither Nashville nor Winston are Art meccas. Good luck!

It just crossed my mind, but on my two visits to Winton-Salem I remember it being a bit of an artsy town (more noticeably so than Houston, where I'm from). And with Winston, NCSA (North Carolina School of the Arts) is in town, which is one of the better/best arts schools in the nation from what I hear. They put on lots of shows.

as kinda a side note, im going to wake next year and i want to major in business, that said, i am taking an art history course this year and I love it. is it possible to be a business major and a art history minor? or could i just take art history classes? just wondering

Yes, many major/minor combinations are possible, including the one above. AND while Winston-Salem may not be an art "mecca" it is easily the most artistic city in NC. NCSA is a powerhouse of art, dance, and all-around creativity and is widely recognized throughout the nation!
