transfer

hello! I’ve got a question and i hope someone can answer it. I’m looking to transfer to the uk after my freshman year of college in the us and was wondering if that is at all possible. meaning, can i transfer after only one year of college in the us? thanks

You’ll need to apply to start over in the first year at a UK university, so it won’t be a US-style transfer where grades carry over and count towards your final degree. However, it will help in that your first year grades in the US can act as an academic qualification if you don’t have the AP scores from HS that UK universities usually need.

You don’t have a lot of time left if you’re talking about applying now for admission in 2020 as the deadline for UCAS (the common application system used in the UK) is 15 January. A very few allow rolling applications direct or via the US Common App, eg St Andrews.

Or are you thinking ahead?

thinking ahead for the following year, not this coming one, but thank you!

Then plan your courses: take ones related to the subject you are planning to apply to study.
