Transfer

Hey I'm a freshmen at Eastern Michigan and I applied to kinesiology for sports management for fall of '05. Using UofM's grading scale I would have a 3.2 after my first semester at EMU(1A, 2 B+'s and 2 B's) and was wondering if anyone knows if I have a decent shot at getting in. I am taking all the classes they recomend you take if you want to trasnfer to kinesiology. I have a feeling I probably won't get in for the fall so I will have to try again in the winter next year.

Also, I have read you can be on the waiting list until June, if I'm on there does anyone know if I can turn in my winter semester grades at the end of April if I still haven't heard?

They usually ask to see a full years college work if you wouldn't have been accepted out of high school.

Thats what I thought too but I called and the lady I talked said it was worth a shot to apply after fall semester and submitt midterm grades or even final grades for winter. I will have the 25 credits you need to transfer after winter so I'm set there but I'm still kinda planning on not getting in for fall '05 but hopefully for the winter.

I graduated with a guy who went to UM @ Flint with a horrible, horrible (re: never, ever came to class) HS GPA. Got a 4.0 and got accepted after just one semester (for the following year), but his 34 act may have had more to do with it. Actually, he has over a 3.9 here and graduated a full year early, too.

Anyways--point is--It's worth a shot, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Yeah I'm not really holding my breath for the fall but thought I would apply anyway and see what happens, I'm hoping to get my GPA up to about a 3.5 or so after winter semester this year and maybe get into UofM for winter '06.

Thanks for the info.

No problem- don't give up and you'll eventually get in. It's well worth the effort!
