I am not doing it for no reason. I would attend if accepted. You guys are misinterpreting what I said. First of all, I am not going to apply to all of the schools I listed. I am really more concerned with Dartmouth, Cornell and University of Pennsylvania. Secondly, I am not insecure. I just do not know if I will like UVA or not. I have not visited there yet. It is still just a brochure to me. I have visited Dartmouth, Cornell, and UPENN which makes my desire to attend 10X stronger. I do really want to go there. It is not only for prestige. Once again, I am not just applying for “kicks”. Obviously it takes a lot of motivation to enter one’s self back into the admissions process. So calm down. I am not going to carelessly take someone elses spot. I have a soul. I have a strong desire. This affects my life as well as other lives; this is not a game. I know that. I was just pondering the possibility anyway. I will think long and hard before I decide if I will transfer or not. I have a year. I am sorry if this thread got anyone upset. I understand the reasons. However, I really want to go to these schools. I have a 100% chance of attending if accepted.

yea seriously people, chill out :P

to me it was obvious what emekchris wanted… hes saying that in case he doesnt like UVA, what kind of chance does he have at these other places?
also, if he wants ‘bigger and better things’ what are the chances of him making it?
hes not just gonna apply to those schools, get in, and then throw the papers away, no one does that… in that case he could just compare his stats to the people who got in basically…

also, whats wrong with wanting to go up in ranking and prestige? sure, UVA is a GREAT school, wonderful even, and im sure OP wouldnt mind staying there if he likes it, but its always nice to go to a ‘better’ school… and esp. since hes already visited those and has seen that he likes the school as well as its rep, while UVA its only the rep and the fact that he got in… he still has to see… maybe he’ll love UVA and not leave…

geez… people need to calm down… maybe people are stressed over their own transfer decisions and finals etc. which can cause some anger, but relax im in the same boat:)

as for emekchris - I think if you keep a 3.8+ at UVA, youll have a great shot at those schools, NYU shouldnt be a problem at all… as long as youre active in school activities(and i cant stress this enough! its very important), youll have an awesome shot at cornell as well, most likely a good shot at dartmouth and upenn aswell :)

lol dude then say that in the first place…
