Transferring After Unschooling?

Why do you need more than your GED and Community College work? I do not understand why the Universities are asking for a High School transcript if you have a GED. Would they not just focus more on the Community College transcript anyway?

I am just wondering. I mean no offense or anything.

I tutor a lot of homeschoolers and I know the day will come where I start having some unschoolers as well, so I figure it would be nice to learn something.

Pity more folks do not know that there is a difference between homeschooling and unschooling, though. That is a shame.

No offense taken; it's a question I keep asking myself. I get the feeling it's the uneasiness over the unschooling, and they want to make sure I really "did" something.

And they absolutely will focus more on the college work; they just like having the rest of it as well. None of the colleges I'm applying to exempt transfers from submitting high school records. I guess with the really selective colleges, every bit counts.
