I am 28 and have been attending community college and I wonder how my lack of high school transcripts will affect the transfer process. I am thinking that it should be a non issue as currently I have made the president's list at my school and have become a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Basically, the extent of my records will consist of my high school diploma and community college transcript.

What is weird is that my high school let me take the regents in 1998, and I scored a nearly perfect average, but since I was home schooled they apparently only have a photocopy of my diploma on hand with no record of these test scores. I believe that this is not important for nontraditional students.

What is most important is, #1 your college transcript, especially since it's been a long time since you've been in HS, letters of recommendations from profs, and for some of the most selective universities, your SAT scores. Do YOU not have a copy of your regents scores?I would try to dig them up somewhere if I were you. It wouldn't hurt to have them.

At your age, you very well may not even need to submit any high school records. A lot of non-traditional programs don't request them. In my case, all I had to do was submit a copy of my GED score report, which I just requested from the state and had mailed for free. Call each college to which you're applying and ask, but really, I don't think you need to stress.
