I am a student at a top 15 liberal arts college who dealt with mental health issues during the first half of my college career and struggled with grades and recently got suspended for disciplinary issues. There was one semester in which I failed a class and received several C’s so I have a 2.5 GPA thus far in college, though the semester afterward I received a 3.43. However, I was suspended near the end of my next and most recent semester for non violent/sexual assault related disciplinary issues. After getting suspended I have been getting mental health treatment and am hoping to take summer classes at a local university to boost my GPA. I am wondering what the chances of getting accepted into a lower ranked school would be through transfer, what schools you guys would recommend to look at, and if anyone has any advice or personal experience regarding such a situation. Thank you.
I doubt anyone will be able to offer much help. Too much will depend on the issues related to your assault and how other schools will perceive them.
You may want to clarify whether you mean non-violence, non-sexual-assault or non-violent sexual assault.
Sorry, I meant to say non-violent/non-sexual assault
Not your fault, just could be interpreted either way thanks to the ambiguity of conversation over the Internet! Now that that’s cleared up I hope some knowledgeable helpers come along to respond.
