Transferring from Brandeis or UCSD after one year?

Hi,

My college application just ended with some heartbreaking results… I was waitlisted by three good schools and I’m not really planning to keep waiting since the chances are so small. Now I have schools like Brandeis and UCSD in hand.

I’m planning to transfer from one of them after the first year, to colleges like USC, Tufts, Emory and UCLA. I’m wondering if Brandeis is going to give me a slightly better chance of getting into one of those schools than UCSD will?

Some Stats:

I’m likely to graduate from HS with unweighted GPA 3.9, and will strive for as good a GPA as I can get in college (hopefully around 3.9 as well), is my chance of getting into one of the colleges above good?

Thank you in advance for helping me!

What is your reason for wanting to transfer?

UCLA will only take Junior level transfers of 60 semester or 90 quarter units and UC to UC transfers are very difficult but not impossible. You are looking at 2 years at UCSD or Brandeis if you plan to transfer.

What is your planned/probable majors? Why do you want to transfer?
