Transferring from UVA

Right now I’m a first year at UVA considering transferring. i’m not enjoying the school as much as I feel like i should. I’ve definitely met tons of new people but it’s hard to actually get to know them. I have no clue what i want to do with my life/major in so I’m kind of keeping my options and taking a variety of courses. My general interests are politics/foreign affairs, economics/finance, and history
I’ll try to keep this brief:
HS Stats: Public HS in Northern Virginia, 4.35 weighted, 3.85ish unweighted, 31 ACT, 2 700+ sat subject scores, 12 AP classes, 3 varsity sports, volunteering for decent organizations including friends of the national zoo, national honor society, spanish honor society, some other clubs and what not.
Current Classes: Astronomy 1220, Econ 2010, European History 2061, Spanish 2020, Commerce 1800, and advising class which is 80% content and 20% advising. I think i can get at least a 3.0 and i feel like thats underestimating myself.
My main complaint is that I feel like UVA is just too big for me, I love the style and environment (being located right in a small city and the campus is beautiful) but it’s hard to really get to know someone.
Because of this im looking at liberal arts schools and smaller research institutions. The main ones I’ve been looking at are ones with higher transfer acceptance rates, specifically Wesleyan, Georgetown (legacy applied but rejected last year), wustl, brown (not a high rate but i love the school), notre dame, emory, vandy, tufts/amherst/williams/pomona/claremont (which aren’t high but very good school)
I’m from northern va so instate and I definitely think my parents would only let me transfer out of state if its a better school than uva so I’m taking that into account.
Any help would really be appreciated thanks!

It’s curious that no one replied to your post. If you come back and see this, please do let us know what you decided to do, if you don’t mind. I’m a parent of a current high school senior. We are awaiting word from UVA for fall 2020. I wonder if UVA (or any other big school) is difficult for a student who might otherwise thrive at a smaller school. UVA is a fantastic school with an excellent reputation. A high school senior would be hard-pressed to say no to it if accepted.
