How difficult is it to transfer to LSE after freshman year at an US university?
What needs to be done in your freshman year to best improve your chances of getting in as a transfer. What credentials do they look at? GPA, SAT/ACT, extra curricular, personal statement? Will a 4.0 at a state university be good enough?
How prestigious is LSE compared to say Ivy’s? Mostly concerned with job/internship opportunities.
What is the cost for an international student?
You can find cost and entry requirement on their webpage (you’ll enter as a fresher/1st year).
The most important element will be level of math and grades received. Most British kids admitted to LSE have had the equivalent of calc1+2 with As before they start so that’d be your minimum.
High GPA, high achievement in math and the major/course you will study. Good personal statement and you may still not get in (no transfer; you’d be starting in their 3-year degree program). They will care strongly about your potential in the field you select.
IMO, LSE is an Ivy-equivalent in prestige in both the US and UK and roughly as difficult to get in. Most British applicants would have the equivalent of 5’s in BC Calc and AP Stats and the hardest AP physics exam + and the equivalent of bunch of other 5’s in APs and still would not be guaranteed admission.
