when u transfer to a uc, there are few majors which demand a very exhaustive preparation like biology, international communication, history; but the other 100 or so majors, these don't even have any major preparation requirements. now, would u have better chances of getting into ucla if u applied under a very demanding, popular major like life science or would it be better if u applied under a lessly demanding major like art history? i equally like history and art history, but the former is popular and demands more specific preparation while the latter is lessly so. i have majority of my igetc finished and i plan to take lots of history classes with a very few art history ones. when i do apply what major should i apply under? who admits the transfer applicants? the major department? okay, my first question is probably confusing: given that i fulfilled history major preparation requirements and that i took many history classes (with few art history/hummanty courses) should i apply under history or art history major to better my chances of getting into ucla with which my jc has TAP alliance.

art history does have requirement: two courses in western and two courses in non-western art history. but i took ap art history to fulfill the two western ones and will have to take the latter two at a different college since my school does not offer any non-western courses.
